Each April during National Minority Health Month, the Office of Minority Health (OMH) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) raises awareness about the causes and impact of health disparities on minority communities and on the nation as a whole. This year’s theme is Partnering for Health Equity – throughout the month, HHS OHM will be celebrating impactful public and private sector collaborations that advance health equity and reduce health disparities in health and health care.
Everyone has a role to play in improving the health of our communities. Here are four things you can do to take action during National Minority Health Month 2018:
- Share your Partnerships in Action health equity story
- Learn more about health equity during our Webinar Series throughout April
- Hear from public health leaders at the National Minority Health Month event on April 17
- Join the conversation during our Twitter Chat on April 25
This April, please join T-SCORE and the HHS OMH in learning more about organizations across the country who are creating impactful partnerships. Stay up-to-date on National Minority Health Month resources and activities at the observance website, through OMH email updates or follow HHS OMH on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
